Q&A
What is Micropigmentation?
Micropigmentation (permanent cosmetics) is a color enhancement of the
eyes, brow, and lips. We do not change the shape, but just simply enhance
the natural beauty.
How does it work?
During the procedure, droplets of pigment are placed into the dermal layer.
Anything deposited in the epidermal layer will exfoliate off and disappear.
The initial exfoliation starts about three days after tattooing. Tiny
particles of normally shedding skin flake off, carrying with it the color
that was staining the surface layers.
Why does it have to be so dark?
Due to the body's own natural way of exfoliating, the initial color has
to be a few shades darker in order to end up with the color desired. If
a pigment starts off as a very light shade, after the natural exfoliation
occurs you will be left with no color at all. Lips fade 50-60%, eyes and
brows 25-30%. So you can see how important it is to begin with what seems
to be a darker color.
What should I expect to feel?
During the procedure you will feel a very slight discomfort, not pain,
just a little discomfort. For the first few days (3-5) you may experience
a little swelling, redness, and when the body starts to heal itself, a
bit of itching. Don't scratch! Itching is a sign of the exfoliating process
beginning. Not everyone will have the same experience. Some may have
swelling and others may not. Some may have redness while others won't.
All these sensations are normal.
